Thank you Barbara Sims You are still free to express your concerns to members of Congress about such matters. The deliberate disregard for the commands of the Constitution, free press provisions, in the governance of membership in the Press Galleries, is unjustifiable. Members of Congress may be especially interested in this subject during an election year. In the US House, the person with final jurisdiction is Speaker Newt Gingrich. Nevertheless, there is no point writing to this member, who is largely oblivious of the US Constitution except when it is expedient to enforce some provision for his own purposes. In the US Senate, the person with final jurisdiction is Sen. John Warner (R-VA), chairman of the Committee on Rules and Administration. Ranking member of that Committee is Sen. Wendell Ford (D-KY) and his special counsel is Ms. Kennie Gill, with whom I have already discussed the problem. Key members of the Senate Committee on the Judiciary should also be concerned. This includes Sen. Orrin G. Hatch (R-UT), chairman, and the ranking member who I believe is Sen. Paul Simon (D-IL). To better inform yourself about the staff persons who are in charge of such matters you may wish to call the respective Committees directly. The street addresses and vphone numbers of these two Committees are: US Senate Committee on Rules and Administration 305 Russell Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510-6325 (vphone 202-224-6352) US Senate Committee on the Judiciary 224 Dirksen Senate Office Building Washington, DC 20510-6275 (vphone 202-224-5225) Vigdor Schreibman - FINS
