Distributed Classification
Ulises Ali Mejias has just published
a paper on distributed classification, also known as free tagging, open tagging, ethnoclassification, folksonomy, and faceted hierarchy, and associated with such services as
flickr,
del.icio.us and
furl. Mejias' main focus is on how users perceive these systems, and how they interact with each other through them. Useful literature review of a nascent field of research.
