The opening plenary session will focus on the changing deaf and hard of hearing student population within postsecondary education. Legislative, political, social, and educational issues have had a tremendous impact on the students that we are seeing today, and will likely impact the next generation of students. There is more diversity among students entering college when considering ethnic backgrounds, communication preferences, and educational experiences and preferences. How can postsecondary educational institutions recognize and address the needs of these students?
