This workshop will provide information on the Transitional Instructional Program’s 12 year
success with preparing deaf and hard of hearing students to enter or reenter
postsecondary college, technical training programs, and eventual employment. This
presentation will focus upon the assessment, academic training, counseling, career
guidance, communication skills, independent living skills, and self-management services
. Data will support this unique approach that integrates deaf and hard of hearing
students in a program that improves their ability to adapt and better compete in
postsecondary education and employment. This workshop will provide information
important to program administrators, instructors, counselors, tutors, and rehabilitation personnel.
