In postsecondary education, there is a growing demand for specialized support services to
address the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Costs for service
delivery continue to increase as resources continue to diminish. Several states have
developed model partnerships between agencies. Panelists from Oklahoma will present
the problem they are encountering with the withdrawal of funding from Vocational
Rehabilitation. Panelists from Kentucky and New Jersey will each present their model
that has addressed this problem. They will also discuss their similarities and
differences, what worked and what didn’t work, how to garner support within you
institution and state, and how the political climate has influenced the outcomes in each
state. Time will be allotted for questions and answers.
