This presentation will discuss how the Program for Deaf Adults (PDA) at LaGuardia Community College has successfully met the educational and support services needs of students from different cultures. In this presentation we will discuss specific ways in which the program recruits and retains its students from entry into continuing education programs through college graduation. The presenters will discuss the program's special programs and projects such as its literacy courses, the Regional Support Services Program, which provides support services to a total of 18 City University colleges, and its unique Interpreter Education program, whose mission it is to prepare and educate interpreters, especially those from different cultural backgrounds, to serve culturally diverse populations.
