This presentation will provide the participants with practical guidelines and tools for
assessing the appropriateness of a post secondary educational program for students who
are deaf-blind. The need for early transition participation by the vocational rehabilitation counselor, deaf-blindness representative, as well as the coordinator of student support services from the prospective college or university will be discussed. Step by step recommendations for transition coordinators, students, parents and other
support personnel will be provided, along with case studies as examples of successful and
effective transition planning.
