Although the Tractatus was finished in 1918, it was not published until 1921
because of difficulties in finding a publisher. As Martin Davis has pointed
out, truth tables also occur in Emil Post's dissertation of 1921.
Wittgenstein and Post worked entirely independently of each other, so both
should be given credit for coming up with truth-tables, at more or less the
same time.
