Since I have no information whatsoever concerning the topics discussed
between Artin and Hasse in 1930 I thought that the Weddle mentioned in
Artin's letters could be the British mathematician Thomas Weddle (1817 -
1853) whose articles (as listed in J. C. Poggendorff,
Biographisch-Literarisches Handwoerterbuch zur Geschichte der exacten
Wissenschaften, vol. II, Leipzig 1863, col. 1277 f.)
could have touched on a point of interest for Artin and Hasse.
