At the risk of seeming to boast (seeming, hell! I AM boasting), I once
produced a proof of the Steiner--Lehmus Theorem. My friend Tony Trono
has made a collection of several dozen proofs of this theorem by high
school students and others. Many are extremely ingenious. My own
proceeded very simply, by proving the following theorem:

If two sides of a triangle are unequal, the shorter side meets the longer
angle bisector.

There are only two cases to consider, and both are straightforward (as
I recall; I no longer remember the details).
