Dear friends,
I read in the archives the question posed by Calvin Jongsma on
the quote on "mathematician" by St. Augustine (9 December 1999).
I first read the quotation in the beginning paragraph of the
book "Mathematics in Western Culture" written by Morris Kline(1953).
Much much later I found in another book the same quotation cited as
from "De genesi ad litteram, Book II".
