In reply to Alexander Zenkins query concerning Aristotles "statement" on
infinity, I would suggest that it has its source in his Physics, which in
part two of book three contains an extended discussion of infinity. Here
one finds: "Also, it is evindently impossible for the infinite to exist in
actuality, and to have substantial existence as a principle as well."
(204a20). It seems to me that the often quoted latin tag Alexander refers
to gives no hint of the subtlety of Aristotles thoughts on the subject.
