This discussion seems to have come to an end, but I am surprised that
no one (especially none of the German-speaking subscribers to this list)
has mentioned Hubert Cremer. Cremer was a very respectable mathematician
who also wrote humorous poems on mathematical themes published as Carmina
Mathematica. He was probably more widely known for these than for his
mathematics. They are amusing, and they have never been translated (though
that may be impossible).
