Hello to all,
I am looking for historical references to the following problem (and
am quite inclined to believe that Euler probably studied it):
Given N > 0.
Write N as a sum of k positive terms.
Take the product of these k terms.
Find the best way ( partition of N ) to maximize this product.
If N -> +oo prove N / k = e (Euler's constant).
