I hope this observation is not judged to be too carping, but aside from
eliminating the accents from La Geometrie, the edition presented is one
published in 1886. In this edition the reader is warned (sic) that some
of Descartes' notation has been modernized without changing the
substance of the work. While I have no doubt this is true, it does
reduce some of the historic value of the text presented (a very small
reduction to be sure).
