Thanks to all who have suggested such interesting math history connections
in Paris. And, of course, more are always welcome.

We are in particular wondering if anyone has information about the
following two specific locations in which we are interested.

1) Galois' house in Bourg la Reine. The suburb of Bourg la Reine shows
up on our map of Paris, adjacent N20 (Route d'Orleans) a few km south of
the city and northwest of Aeroport d'Orly.
Q. Does the house still exist and if so, where? Probably was a
fairly prominent house, since his father was mayor for many years.
Q. Are there other sites associated with Galois we should take
note of?

2) We've heard that there was a portrait of the medieval Islamic
philosopher Avicenna (Ibn Sina) somewhere in the University school of
medicine. Perhaps in the library, wherever that is -- does anyone know?
