contains several(*) quotes of Immanuel Kant. One of them reads:
So fa"ngt denn alle menschliche Erkenntnis mit Anschauungen an,

(*) this means that the collector didn't quote Hilbert, I guess !
On the othere hand, this one:

Vielleicht kennen Sie von Kant .. in der "Kritik der reinen Vernunft" .. da
gibt's den schoenen Satz - der eben klassisch ist: "Die Erkenntnis hebt bei
den Sinnen an, geht von da zum Verstande und endet bei der Vernunft."

That is what I believe.
Unfortunately I have not the IK's German books to check it out.
(I have not the DH's _GderG_ either. The Greek translation of the 7th edition
[1930] hasn't epigraphs. BTW, the Greek translation
[D. Hilbert: Qemelia ths Gewmetrias. Athens: Trochalia 1995,
ISBN: 960-7022-66-1] contains quite a long Introduction of the translator
Statis Papadopoulos: pp. 17-130)
