In the course of studying some of Lehmer's work from the
1930's, I have come across an interesting paper by
Tracy A. Pierce in the Annals of Math. vol. 18 (1917).
I have not been able to find her name on any of the
usual lists of women mathematicians from that period,
and would like to find out who she was.

All I have been able to find out is the 1917 paper (in
which she mentions no earlier work) and two papers in
the 1930's (Amer. Math. Monthly 39 (1932) and Bulletin
of the AMS 37 (1931)). The gap between 1917 and 1931 is
probably due to the limitations of available search tools,
but it at least shows her name did not change over that
period.

Does anyone know anything about her? Was she perhaps a
student of Carmichael? I'd be most grateful for any
information.
