Subject: [HM] Linear A, B also used binary weight systems

Dear HM listmembers,
The fact that Harrapan culture used a binary, Horus-Eye, weight
system or two is not unusual. Region wide trade with Egypt
required this method. For example, Linear A, B (two different
cultures) appear to use the same written binary notation for
numeration. However, as Emmett L. Bennet reported at the
latest 1999 Minoan conference in Salzburg, in his paper
"Minos and Minyas: writing Aegean measures, precise understand
of the weights and measures systems being used is required.
That is, could Denish be a little more specific on the weights
and measures system being used, beyond the display of the balance
weights used - for the Egyptian balance beam?
With this type of analysis, one day Linear A's weights and measure
system maybe pinned down, opening a door to suggesting a language
and related mathematics that may have been used my Minoans.
Regards to all,
Milo Gardner
