According to Boyer's _A History of Mathematics_, p.460, "Jean Bernoulii
signed a pact under which in return for a regular salary, he agreed to send
L'Hospital his discoveries in mathematics, to be used as the marquis
might wish." This surely includes the right to publish. L'H. did mention
his indebtness to Bernoulli, but only in general terms, not attributing
to him any particular result.
