My license plate in VA, USA, reads MATHS . We found that MATH was
already taken. However, we quickly adapted, since (1) my wife and I are
both mathematicians, (2) we both taught in New Zealand for 5 years, (3) we
have a daughter who lives in London (as well as one who lives in the USA).
I don't know, though, how the average person in the USA takes the MATHS .
Probably a bit of a puzzle to some people.
