In addition to the other remarks about Hudde it may be nice to know
that he is remembered by the "Huddestraat" ("straat"="street")
in Amsterdam, a small fairly centrally located street close to the Amstel
river and connected by the perpendicular Tulpstraat in the middle
to the most luxurious hotel in Amsterdam (Amstelhotel).
This Tulpstraat by the way is named after professor Tulp whose
activities were immortalized by Rembrandt's famous painting
the "Anatomical Lecture" (of Professor Tulp) in the Rijksmuseum
in Amsterdam (I guess).
