Dear Juan Tarres,
I have just read, in a Swedish book from 1721, about a letter from
Hippocrates of Kos, the father of medicine, to his son Thessalus. There he
explains how important it is to know geometry (to better know the places of
the bones in the body so you can put them right when they are twisted and so
on) and the art of counting (to find how fever changes and so on) even if
you are to be a doctor.
I have just got an old-swedish translation of the letter. You should find
the letter somewhere. If you find it, please tell me, I am interested.
Best greetings
