Dear Listmembers,
in a recent post, Antreas P. Hatzipolakis (xpolakis@otenet.gr) explained
that NOMOS was Greek and not Egyptian, and, what is supposed to be even
more definitive, that Egyptian were not Indo-European.
Dear Antreas, can you explain to me what Indo-European is, why Egyptian
cannot be Indo-European, and why a wording cannot travel from one to
other linguistic areas?
An interesting remark about NOMOS=partition consists in considering that
MONOS means unity. As often when considering roots and the way to play with,
it is useful to consider what produces their permutations. Take for example
the less possible Indo-European language, the Arabic, where the root KEM
means quantity, partition, how many. And now take the ultra Indo-European
Pythagorean Greek, where the root MEK means number.
