Dear Antreas Hatzipolakis,
I am sure Julio G. C. would not appreciate us to derive on what is about
linguistics only, but I cannot leave unanswered a statement like:
> The Egyptian language belongs to the Hamito-Semitic language family, while
> Greek & Latin belong to the Indoeuropean family.
which sounds completely out of age, a dusty categorizing when compared to
recent theories. I think particularly of the School of Stanford, which has
completely reorganized the categorizing in this field. Now the situation is,
at least, to emphasize on the relativity of these notions and, above all, to
forbid a confidence like yours:
> The languages have been divided into families by linguists; not by me!
which should lead you to be even more careful.
And when you say that
> Etymology is not wordplaying!
I would agree if words were not made of sounds, because etymology is
soundplaying! And in all this, it is the word "playing" which is important.
A propos: does the first part of your name come from the Greek Agios (holy),
or from the Arabo-Turkish Hadji (which means holy, blessed, and often refers
to the Pilgrimmage)?
