Those who will be in New York City between now and February 19, 2000 should
stop in the main branch of the New York Public Library at 5th Avenue and
42nd Street to view the extensive exhibition "Seeing is Believing: 700
Years of Scientific and Medical Illustrations".
Many of the greatest classics of western science are on display there. In
particular, the mathematics section includes editions of works by
Euclid, Archimedes, Appolonius, Regiomontanus, Descartes, Fermat, Euler
and Newton.
