On a lightly different linguistic note:

"Calculus" as a calque or translation does not exist in isolation in
Russian, even though there is an equivalent native variant--TTBOMK it
always goes by "differential calculus" or "integral calculus" or both or
some other modified combination, but never a single word. In that way, I
believe, the use of the term equivalent to "calculus" is much wider (in
the sense of the number of combinations) in Russian than it is in
English, but the word does not occur as frequently. My knowledge of
other languages does not extend to mathematical details. So my question
is, what is the use of the term equivalent to calculus, particularly the
differential and integral calculus, in other languages?
