Dear HM list:
In his foreword to 'The Bedside Nature' Stephen Jay Gould refers obliquely
to a public dispute between himself and Karl Popper regarding the source
and meaning of the motto of the Royal Society, 'Nullius in verba'.
Can anyone enlighten me on the nature of this controversy?
