I would like to know what the standards are in other states for
secondary school mathematics teachers.....maybe with higher math
competency standards for the teachers, we would find the students
better prepared for college!!

Beth: California, in the 1960's, eliminated the undergraduate education
major. No one can get a credential to teach at any level without an
academic degree. Bachelor degrees in math or equivalent are required
for high school teaching. To oversimplify somewhat, Master's in math or
in a related area are required for CC teaching.
