The AA/AS Degree Subcommittee of AMATYC's Program Issues Committee has
written a draft of a position paper that contains a statement similar to
that proposed by Dick. If there is interest, I would be glad to post the
draft on this list serve. The draft of this statement will be published in
the next issue of the AMATYC News. There will be a forum on this position
statement at the Long Beach meeting in November. The Program Issues
Committee encourages input on the draft. Current plans are to use the input
received to write a final draft in hopes of submitting the statement, after
Board approval, to the Delegate Assembly at the Atlanta meeting in 1997.
