In a message earlier today, someone mentioned the monthly _Mathematics
Teacher_ published by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics as a
great source of problems for community college students at or below the
College Algebra level. Many of these problems are appropriate for middle
school students as the _M.T._ is intended to serve students grades 7-12.
You may not also be aware that NCTM has a monthly publication _Mathematics
Teaching in the Middle School_. I think it serves grades 5-8, and has only
been around for the last few years. Both publications have a problem section
in each issue, and the solutions are printed in the follow-up issue.
You should be able to obtain copies of the journals at your campus library
(or possibly the education library). They are very popular with math
education students.
Good luck, and thanks for your efforts to reach out to those students!
