those who placed into it with those who passed dev math. Once again, no

I did get this data for our students:
Of the 314 students who took College Algebra from Sept. 1993 to Sept.
1994, 216 placed directly into College Algebra (77.8% passed the College
Algebra course) and 98 took a Developmental course before taking the
College Algebra (94.9% passed the College Algebra course).
The mean grade for the group who placed into College Algebra was 2.2.
The mean grade for those who took a Dev course first was 2.8.
Our developmental courses are also taught by mostly adjunct faculty.
