I agree with Brian. There is no better WYSIWYG scientific word processor
around than Simon Smith's masterpiece, EXP for Windows. It's just out in a
Win 95 version 5.0 and is available for Windows 3.x in version 4.0. The thing
that makes it so great is the fact that you edit mathematics directly in the
document and not in a separate window. Switching from text to math is as easy
as pressing the Insert key. I have tried Amipro/WordPro, WordPerfect, & MS
Word and none comes close for math editing. You can download a nearly
fully-enabled test version from

http://www.thomson.com/brookscole/decom.html

The only thing you can't do is save your files.

Brooks-Cole also has a test generator based on EXP that is the best I've ever
used. It's called EXPTest. You can create your own test banks and assign
difficulty levels to questions. I've only used the DOS version, but there is
a Windows version that is available. I'm eagerly awaiting a copy.
Unfortunately, EXPTest may only be available with a text adoption.

\Need some info - Anyone know a software test generating program that is
capable of creating tests from an in-house created testbank? We have the
questions - just need a software program that would pick questions from
various categories and create final exams.
Also looking for a equation editor software package for the IBM that is user
friendly. I can create fractions, radicals, equations etc. with a couple of
keystrokes on my MAC, but we haven't been able to find anything that nice
for IBM and Windows 95. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Sharon
