POSITION: DEVELOPMENTAL MATHEMATICS COORDINATOR
QUALIFICATIONS: A Master's degree in mathematics or mathematics
education and evidence of quality teaching. Candidates are expected to
have previous experience with developmental mathematics and a
willingness to be involved in distance education, assessment of student
learning, collaborative learning, and instructional technology.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The coordinator will have primary responsibility for
conducting a review of the developmental mathematics program
including staffing, teaching practices, course materials, instructional
technology, learning labs, and course data. The instructional specialist
will work with and report to the department chair as well as work with
instructional staff, campus deans, and student services staff in the
process of overseeing the developmental program and to recommend
improvements. The coordinator may also be expected to teach one
developmental course per semester.
STARTING DATE: August, 1998
SALARY: Competitive
