I have a student who will be taking Intermediate Algebra soon and will
need a scientific (at a minimum exponent and log keys--not necessarily
trig functions.) calculator with large buttons. She has a 4-function
calculator that she is able to handle proficiently but all of the
scientific calculators require more manual dexterity to be able to push
only one button at a time. We have checked catalogs for special needs
and have found many specialized calculators, but none seem to address
this need and would prefer for her to have something that she could
carry easily with her text rather than a laptop computer. If anyone has
found something that has worked for them, would you please e-mail me
directly at dtischer@metropo.mccneb.edu. Thanks for any suggestions you
might have.
