Hi Christopher,

We have used Mastering Mathematics, How To Be a Great Math Student, 3rd
edition, Richard Manning Smith, Brooks Cole, ISBN 0-534-34947-1 at the
elementary and intermediate algebra levels. Everyone who has used the book
has reported success and satisfaction. We have coupled with book with lots
of reflective exercises that try to focus students on their personal
learning styles and study habits. We have found that this kind of exercise
is completely new to most of them and something that they enjoy doing.

I have had some success with Conquering Math Anxiety, A Self-Help Workbook,
Cynthia Arem, Brooks/Cole, ISBN 0534-18876-1. However, I usually use this
as a reference for myself when preparing reflective exercises or for when I
run extra lab sessions for the courses.

Hope these help.
