I wrote awhile back about trying to publish on the web and several people
sent advice. One piece of advice sounded great - Scientific Notebook. I
checked this one out. In terms of creating documents with equations,
graphs, and text it sounds great and the price is extremely reasonable
($60). I actually had a trial disk and borrowed someone's PC for the
afternoon and tried it out and I was able to create nice documents in no
time at all. I didn't get a chance to see how it works with publishing,
though. Unfortunately, it doesn't run on a Mac platform so I can't use it.
The other similar packages (Scientific Workplace, etc.) that do work on
the Mac are more expensive ($500+).
I am still checking out the other resources everyone sent (summer school is
still in session so it is taking me awhile to check them all out) but I am
including my original message below in case anyone was on vacation and
didn't see it the first time. Thanks for all the help.
