exam schedules

My school, a Tech Comm College, has historically usedthe last three
days of each quarter for exams. These exams are scheduled for a two
hour block. Only the classes which meet 3 or more times a week use the
schedule. Classes that only meet 1 or 2 days a week are expected to
give their exams on the last regularly scheduled class meeting.
The Academic Affairs Committee is now discussing changing this to
accommodate the Allied Health programs which have trouble scheduling the
necessary clinical hours for their programs. They cannot afford to give
up those last three days of the quarter.
I would like to know what kind of exam schedules other schools use.
