having started this discussion. I think the next thing that could be
helpful would be to present what we mean by Intermediate Algebra curriculum.
As someone who strongly believes in what the AMATYC STANDARDS, I am still
concerned about the level of mathematical competence. Maybe in the next
couple of weeks we could propose a curriculm that reflects the standards and
what "competent" Intermediate Algebra students should know.

Just a thought on the last day of the semester at our institution.
