Subject: Rental of Graphing Calculators
This is the first year that graphing calculators were required at Terra. We
thought that it would be a problem for some students and looked into a
rental program. I found that the rental programs that have been used have
not been terribly successful.
Instead of a rental program, Terra brought several calculators for the
library. Students may use the calculator at the library by giving the
librarian their drivers license.
All of the teachers have access to 10 "floating calculators." These
calculators have been lent to students for the quarter free of charge if the
student requests some help.
So far this has worked quite well for us.
