We have been using the CPTs since the spring of 1993. Here are the
cutoffs we have set:

CPT Arithmetic
0-30 ABS Math
31-57 Developmental artihmetic course

CPT Elementary Algebra
0-35 Beginning Algebra then Intermediate Algebra (Dev)
35-70 May elect to take a one quarter HS Alg I review
71-120 Curriculum Algebra/Trig sequence

CPT College Level Math
0-45 Curriculum Algebra/Trig sequence, start in Alg
46-65 May start in the Trig part of the sequence
66-80 Precalculus
80-120 Calculus I

We do not have mandatory placement, but most students believe the
computer printout and sign up appropriatly. The ones who don't
frequently have to drop and take the "right" course for them.
