You can find links to a number of good sources of data for teaching
statistics on the homepage for the Statistical Education Section of the
American Statistical Association. The url is
http://www.stat.ncsu.edu/stated/data/html
These include sites that have collected real data sets specifically for
use in teaching statistics such as DASL (Data and Story Library), the
Journal of Statistics Education Data Archive and the CHANCE database, as
well as direct sources such as the US Census Bureau.
