Hi everyone,

The Missouri chapter of AMATYC would like to invite you to attend our annual
spring conference, March 23 - 25. The keynote speaker, Friday morning, is
Herb Gross, the first president of AMATYC. His speech is titled "The Future
Never Was What it Used to Be."

Other session titles include:
"Digging' Math" (archeology and math) by Karen Gaines and Jim Frost
"Self Paced Alternatives to a Basic Math Class" by Marylynne Abbot
"Elementary Algebra Activities Using Graphing Calculators" by Lillian Seese
"Getting Into Groups" by Joan Grahlfs
"Teaching Intermediate Algebra through Applications" by Sharon North

There will be three sessions to choose from in each time slot.

The conference is at Lake Ozark, MO. If anyone would like to fly in to
Kansas City or St. Louis, providing arrangements are made well in advance,
you could probably catch a ride to Lake Ozark with someone. (It is about a
3-hour drive from either city.)

WHEN? Registration begins Thursday evening, March 23 and the conference
ends at noon on Saturday.
WHERE? Lake Ozark, Missouri (A beautiful area for those of you who have
never been to the Ozarks.)
HOW MUCH? $50 if registered by March 9, 2000. $55 after that. That cost
includes some food. The rooms at the Holiday Inn at the Lake are about $75
a night.
