You might check out the Four Regional Wolrkshops sponsored by AMATYC.
These are all about implementing the standards. In all of them, schools
are encouraged to send fculty/administrators in teams to not only study
various ways the standards are being implemented, but to work on developing
their own school plan.

I would imagine all of them will deal with hands-on activities and/or use
of manipulatives. I am on the planning committee of the St. Louis workshop
and we will be. Some sessions will deal with manipulatives in Basic Math,
some will have activities using the CBL and TI-xx calculators.
