Jason,
As is typical in education, since teaching at the elementary level is more
difficult and requires more talent, the pay is lower. Nevertheless, when
you come to the end of your life I hope you can look back and, regardless
of accomplishments, be satisfied that you tried to do something good. I
think there would be a good chance of that if you taught good math in
elementary school even for just a few years.
