Onondaga Community College invites applications for full-time, tenure track
position beginning August, 1998 in the Mathematics Department. Other
professional duties include advising students, committee work, curriculum
development, and participation in student-centered activities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required are a Master's degree in Mathematics or
Mathematics Education and three (3) years teaching college mathematics,
which must have included developmental level mathematics. Equivalent
adjunct or graduate assistantship teaching experience will be considered.
Community college experience is preferred.
A balance in teaching experience and academic preparation is sought. The
successful candidate will possess a strong record of academic excellence and
demonstrated teaching effectiveness. The candidate must be able to teach a
range of mathematics courses from developmental mathematics to sophomore
level mathematics courses. Teaching statistics and a knowledge of various
learning styles are a plus. In addition, the candidate must be able to
teach a diverse student population, demonstrate a willingness to participate
in student advisement adn faculty committee work, and interact effectively
with a diverse population of students and colleagues.

SALARY: Contingent upon rank to which appointed.
