One night a week Vs Two nights

I erased the original request for input on this topic, but I really
would like to know how "success" was measured.
The debate on one Vs two I think is common at any ollege. I've
taught both and realize that unless the course is a "refresher" for a student
the one night a week format is tough. You have to teach the second half of
the class assuming that students now KNOW the material covered in the first
half in order to cover all of the objectives required in the curriculum.
Their eyes would glaze over after 2 hours...
This is not a debate of adjunct faculty vs full time faculty. However
it does get down to covering the required curriculum. So back to the
original.... how was sucess measured? Departmental final? Sucess in
subsequent course?
