<< DISNEY'S AMERICAN TEACHER AWARDS
The Walt Disney Company conducts an annual national program to honor
American teachers called The American Teacher Awards. The program
selects and showcases exemplary elementary and secondary school
teachers whose classes and students represent the diversity of the
American public and private school systems. >>
first of all, many thanks to nsattler for sending this to the board; a lot of
adjunct faculty also split time with K-12 duties... you can tell, by noting
the large % that are able to pay most of their bills on time. those that do
this are frequently better at the lower grade levels because they are not
insulated from the post-secondary education "biome."
idle thought #1: if I drew the attention of the Michael Eisner (nee Walt
Disney) Company, would that be considered a good thing?
idle thought #2: when they speak of "the diversity of ... etc." does this mean
that Eisner & Co. are going to showcase the mediocre and really awful classes
as well? *That*, at least, would be educational and/or entertaining.
