Here's the update on what has happened with the on-line course glitch (final
exam was not available).

Here are the solutions they didn't think of that could have avoided this whole
problem.

1) Have a mirror site available in case of a problem (oddly the entire site
was up, except for the final exam and this week's discussion questions).
2) E-mail us the exam (even an html file could be attached to an e-mail).
3) Temporarily posted the exam on some other website for just the week and e-
mail us the new URL.

Here's the solution they came to:

They are extending the last day of the semester. When I pointed out the fact
that we would not be able to legally do this with a regular class, they said
that they didn't have to follow any set rules.

I think this highlights some potentially big legal issues for on-line courses
and something we all need to consider before we jump into this. Where is your
school going to stand? Will your on-line classes have to follow the same
rules as your regular classes? If not, will you be putting a disclaimer to
that effect in the schedule of classes stating such? Does the college have
the right to change the dates of the course, even if it negatively impacts the
students?

Our school is going to start offering on-line courses in a year or so and I'm
extremely interested in all your opinions on this subject!
