Hi,

One of the best and easiest uses of beginning spreadsheets was to program
in the quadratic formula. It reinforces order of operations, forcing them to
learn just where to put the parenteses. Column 1 = a, col2 = b, col 3 = c
and columns 4 & 5 become the solutions.

A secondary use would then be to have the spreadsheet graph the parabolas that
are determined by various values of a,b,and c.
